“Im surprised by the sub-par reviews on here. This MB has always been really great. If I go at the non-peak times the lines are not bad. The store is very clean. There are really friendly staff and if you look at their name tags you see how the place must be a good employer because many of them have worked there for decades. I take that as a very good sign. The butcher/meat department folks are especially helpful. The produce is always good. I’ve also discovered in the last few months that they package up deli meat and put it in a refrigerated bin near the deli dept so you don’t have to wait in line if you are happy with just grabbing what’s pre-cut and not worrying about a specific amount/weight. The only frustration I had recently was they seem to not be carrying the frozen artichokes for the last few months, and they did not have saffron – but I did find it in another MB.”

“I’ll be honest – the reason I shop here is mostly because the prices are right and it’s the closest grocery store to my house. But there’s more to it than that! The employees are friendly and many of them have been there for years, which means familiar faces and a sense of community. The cashiers are competent and quick and the store, while older, is kept clean and well-organized. The bakery products are reliably good and the store stocks a fair number of items for people with reduced diets, like gluten free foods.”

Thank the lord for Market Basket. Stop and Shop makes me feel like I need to put on a tie and vest to buy their ridiculously overpriced food. The variety may be a little slimmer at MK but without them my family would have a lot less to eat

Know what I like about this place beyond the fact that everyone is so friendly?… I like the size of the place. Not too big, not too small. The huge stores are nice when you’re looking for something special but when you need to do some quick shopping on the way home from work, this is what you want. Shop on a Tuesday for the freshest veggies. That’s when they get their delivery.
